Roadmap to Closure for Leaking Underground Storage Tank Sites

Date and Time:
10/18/2017 at 3:00 PM, Duration: 45 Minutes

Once a release of a fuel product from an Underground Storage Tank is reported to the applicable regulatory agency, the responsible parties are faced with several options to obtain Closure of the Site. The Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Site Cleanup and Closure process can involve removal actions, in-place closure, Site investigation and remedial activities, development of a Conceptual Site Model, statistical analysis, and/or risk assessment.

The approach to closure of LUST Sites has changed and evolved over the years and the best option often depends on several different factors. This presentation will provide a discussion of the key components of the LUST Site Cleanup and Closure decision making process based upon the regulatory needs, timing, and cost.
