The Senior Manager is responsible for providing senior-level management and final (QA/QC) review on projects/proposals and identifying and developing business opportunities related to environmental compliance, construction management, and health & safety compliance activities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Compliance Department Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Oversee professional-level technical and administrative support staff to achieve established objectives and deadlines.
· Provide/manage sufficient amount of work to keep two project management teams and one staff person productive.
· Identify work opportunities with existing and potential clients and make efforts to secure the work through networking and the referral process.
· Responsible for project administration including project financial performance, budgeting, recognizing the need for change orders on a project and directing appropriate staff, selecting subcontractors and directing the issuance of purchase orders, approval of subcontractor invoices, directing the preparation of and approving project invoices, maintaining project files, closing the job, preparing project descriptions, and conducting project performance reviews.
· Manage project portfolio and provide final review of all project submittals and correspondence.
· Evaluate the needs of a project and effectively delegate various tasks and responsibilities.
· Coach and mentor project team members in the technical and administrative activities required to successfully complete projects.
· Maintain client contact throughout the project to keep the client informed of key project milestones and budget issues.
· Respond to client and prospective client requests.
· Act as a liaison between the client and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to clarify relevant standards and policies and communicate how they impact the client and/or project.
· Interpret existing regulations and guidance and coordinate with other staff in developing strategies to ensure compliance.
· Support the sales effort by attending sales meetings, making sales presentations, providing technical information, and following-up on identified opportunities.
· Provide marketing support by updating resume, preparing project descriptions, and participating in technical presentation and publishable opportunities.
· Maintain a billable goal of 40 hours per 80 hour pay period (50% productivity).

Additional Requirements:
This classification requires the use of a personal or company vehicle on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, have an acceptable driving record, and receive medical clearance from a baseline physical.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Requires seven years of professional experience in the environmental compliance industry or a related field including two years of management, consulting, and business development experience; and a bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field. Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a plus. Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
