Leading the Way: An Executive-level Perspective on Sustainability

In conjunction with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, August Mack is pleased to announce an upcoming seminar on sustainability entitled, "Leading the Way: An Executive Perspective on Sustainability." The seminar is geared toward executive-level business professionals who are interested in integrating sustainable business practices in their organization. The half-day seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at August Mack's Gold LEED certified Indianapolis office. A detailed agenda for the seminar is provided below.
- 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Registration and Networking Breakfast
- 9:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Introduction

This session will provide a brief introduction to the purpose of the seminar, highlight key topics seminar presenters will cover and provide a brief overview of LEED certification.
- 9:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Tour of August Mack’s Gold LEED Certified Office
Cameron Smith, LEED Accredited Professional, Shiel Sexton
A short tour of August Mack’s Indianapolis office will provide attendees with a brief introduction to how August Mack was able to incorporate sustainable business practices into its new downtown location. These efforts resulted in August Mack receiving the first Gold LEED certification for Commercial Interiors in Indianapolis.
- 9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. What is Sustainability?

The focus of this session will be defining the concept of sustainability for attendees as well as showing attendees how to recognize the sustainable efforts their company is currently making. At the end of this first session, attendees should be able to clearly articulate the concept of sustainability to their colleagues and identify whether or not their company is engaging in any sustainable practices now.

- 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Benefits of Sustainability

This session will focus on three benefits of sustainability and how business executives can capitalize on these benefits.

Providing a real-life example of how sustainability can be incorporated into business practices, Roche will discuss their sustainability efforts and the impact these efforts have had on their business.

- 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Getting Recognized for Sustainability Efforts

The final session of the seminar will focus on how a company can go about gaining recognition for its sustainability efforts. August Mack has found that many companies are unaware of the awards available for sustainable development as well as the potential marketing and public relations benefits from these efforts. The goal of this session will be to teach attendees how to capitalize on their efforts to grow their future business.
