The marketing intern is responsible for providing marketing support to the Marketing Coordinator, technical staff, and August Mack offices. The primary responsibility of the marketing intern is to complete projects related to the company’s overall marketing strategies and plan. Work is performed under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provide administrative support in tracking, gathering, and managing business development leads and subsequent follow-up.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of the Company's internal and external Websites.
· Proposal and Qualifications Support - provide accurate and timely support to technical, sales, and management personnel in all areas of proposal and technical qualification submittals including section development, submittal coordination, project description development, word processing, proofreading, data entry, editing, copying, and binding.
· Provide assistance on special projects, including, BEMs, holiday cards & gifts, United Way Campaign, research, spreadsheets and Power Point presentations.
· Provide backup support to Department Coordinators and the Front Desk Coordinator as necessary.
· Provide regular updates associated with marketing activities to the Marketing Coordinator.
· Other tasks as may be assigned related to the business of August Mack Environmental, Inc.
Knowledge of:
· Proper business English, spelling, and grammar.
· Office practices, procedures, and equipment operations.
· Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Access, and FrontPage).
· Creative Suite 3 applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and InDesign).
Skilled in:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong editing skills. (AP Style)
· Strong multi-tasking skills.
· Graphic design for print and web communications. (The knowledge of web design is a requirement for this position.)
Ability to:
· Operate a personal computer.
· Operate a multi-line phone system.
· Learn customized computer programs.
· Work in a fast-paced environment.
· Work cooperatively with internal and external customers.
· Work as a team and backup other department coordinators.
· Learn job-related material primarily through verbal instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
· Remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
· Move light objects weighing less than 20 pounds, such as supplies and files short distances.
· Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Requires 0-1 years of marketing experience in a professional service industry and course work geared toward a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
