Project Manager - Lancaster, Pennsylvania
A Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management related to designated service areas. In addition, project managers are expected to maintain a personal client base with limited assistance from senior personnel. This position reports directly to the Office Manager and must be able to manage project team member resources and subcontractors in the context of managing projects.
Essential Functions:
- Provide/manage sufficient amount of work to keep a project management team productive.
- Identify work opportunities with existing and potential clients and make efforts to secure the work through networking and the referral process.
- Understand and perform all tasks necessary to complete a project’s scope of work.
- Train field and staff personnel in tasks associated with the project’s scope of work.
- Mentor field and staff personnel through the technical training program.
- Schedule and maintain productivity of all staff and field personnel.
- Negotiate permit terms with regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate, select, and schedule subcontractors.
- Expand and maintain current eCAP accounts and be responsible for insuring a continuing working relationship with that customer.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for projects.
- Prepare job descriptions of successfully completed projects and update August Mack resume for Marketing purposes.
- Provide technical assistance to the Marketing Department to increase August Mack’s client base.
- Maintain a billable goal of 64 hours per 80 hour pay period (80% productivity).
- Preparation and technical review of written reports.
- Complete projects under budget and conduct administration of the projects.
Acceptable Experience and Training:
Requires 5 years of project management experience in environmental consulting and a bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/chemical engineering, environmental science, geology, or a related field. Knowledge of environmental permit regulations and strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must. Business development experience, Health & Safety experience, and knowledge of state regulations is a plus. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Additional Requirements:
This classification requires the use of a personal or company vehicle on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record.
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer work days; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long distance drives and air travel may be required.
